A grand opening ceremony for the Friendship Bridge between Azerbaijan and Russia took place in Astrakhan on Wednesday.

Special training courses were organized for volunteers of "IDEA for Green Azerbaijan" project from 10 to 15 September 2012 at the IDEA Resource Center based at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The courses aimed at building volunteers' leadership capacity and presentation/facilitation skills and increasing their knowledge on environmental issues.

As part of the project, lectures on the importance of environmental protection will be delivered to about 50 young people, including students and graduates of higher education institutions, over the course of a week. They will also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the work done on site.

IDEA Campaign and EcoSphere Social and Environmental Center with support of Ministry of Youth and Sport and Icheri Sheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve organized student camp on the occasion of the international Youth Day which is marked on 12 August.

The project envisages organization and conduction of seminars for schoolchildren in big cities of Azerbaijan. The seminars are to involve 20 volunteers in September-October of this year.
