Our training topic this week at IDEA Summerfest 2022 camp was “Eco-volunteering.” Together with our colleagues, participants discussed the basics of volunteering, shared their volunteer experiences and exchanged ideas on what they can do to help protect the environment.

On August 3rd, IDEA was a guest at “2022 Summer Fest”, the annual youth summer camp of Azerbaijan Youth Foundation. It was great to meet the campers and lead an inspiring training under the theme of “Earth is our home”. We cannot wait to be back again next week to meet another batch of festival campers.

The main goal of the summer camp "Bringing Bison Back to Our Nature!" is to inform youth about the importance of bison reintroduction and protection, educate them in the field of environmental conservation, and foster a sense of love and care for nature.

On 23 July 2022, Green Conversation Club gathered an enthusiastic group of young nature-lovers who came in to talk about plastic pollution. The event featured an online presentation on plastics in the ocean by a youth activist Zarifa as well as a short lecture by a marine wildlife biologist Rory from the UK.

On July 13-15, the "Reintroduction of Gazelles to the Areas Where They Historically Inhabited the Caucasus" program, initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, held its next ecological summer camp titled "Let's Protect Gazelles!"
