On 29 September 2016, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), founder and head of IDEA Leyla Aliyeva provided an insight into the agenda of "Sustainable Development and Ecological Civilization" round table, as part of the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.
30.09.2016Conducted as part of the UN’s program - The Global Partnership on Marine Litter (GPML) - the event gathered over 100 volunteers and aimed to raise public awareness in preventing pollution along coastal areas as well as maintaining the removal of litter. Failure to clean up waste on beaches, apart from causing sanitation problems, results in significant damage to marine environment.
17.09.2016As an IUCN member, IDEA took close part in the sessions of the Congress, including the election of the organization’s new President and Regional Councillors and the discussion and approval of the IUCN Programme for the next four years. IDEA contributed to discussions on environmental messages and brought the threats facing the biodiversity of Azerbaijan as well as the wider region to the attention of the global community.

14.09.2016Ms. Aliyeva participated in the vaccination and health check up process of three newly born leopard cubs. Afterwards, she had a meeting with the head of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organisation (ANO) "Caucasian Nature Center", during which perspectives of the restoration of leopard populations in their historical natural habitats were discussed.
06.09.2016Recycling and sustainability are something we feel strongly about at IDEA Resource Centers, and we like to promote them in as many ways as possible. Therefore, the August eco-lab session of IDEA and Sevimli Bala focused on teaching 6 to 11 year old children about environmental protection through reducing, reusing and recycling.
