On 21-22 November 2019, another pair of fruit gardens was established in Shabran and Khachmaz districts within a long-term project - Fruit Gardens that aims to improve the welfare of low-income families in the regions of Azerbaijan. The project is run by IDEA, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

IDEA Settles Parrots in Baku

On 19 November 2019, an event to release a dozen parrots at Ataturk park of Baku took place with the participation of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA Founder Leyla Aliyeva. Released as part of IDEA’s Urban Ecology project, the ring-necked parakeets (lat. Psittacula krameri) are species of parrots that are capable of living and independently repopulating in the climate of Baku.

Ghizilagaj National Park Declared as a Hope Spot!

On 8 November 2019, the newly established Ghizilagaj National Park has been recognized as a Hope Spot - ecologically unique areas of the ocean designated for protection under a global conservation campaign Mission Blue. Hope spots are chosen for their contributions to biodiversity and the carbon sink, and carry the goal of raising global support for marine protected areas.
