IDEA Representatives Met with Participants of Green Energy Camp

The “Green Energy Camp” for young environmentalists having been organized since 22 March 2012. The “Green Energy Campaign” for young environmentalists having been organized since 22 March 2012 in the Gobustan Experimental Training and Education Centre by IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action), initiated by Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, the Azerbaijani Student Youth Organizations’ Union, the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Resources and Tamiz Shahar JSC continues.

The project aims to increase the knowledge of young ecologists about alternative energy resources, their mechanisms and working principles.

On 24 March, a presentation of IDEA’s project “Mobilizing Azerbaijani Youth for Action in Preparation for the Rio+20 Summit” was held for the participants of the Green Energy Campaign. The project is being implemented upon the memorandum signed between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNDP. It aims to raise awareness of Azerbaijani youths about the summit and sustainable development concept ahead of Rio+20 Summit and provide their active participation in it.

During the two-hour meeting, representatives of IDEA Campaign <strong>Ramiz Babayev</strong> and <strong>Rauf Mardiyev</strong> spoke about the sustainable development, green economy, climate change and counteraction and the role of Azerbaijani youths in those processes.
