UNEP European Main Groups and Stakeholders Meeting Held in Azerbaijan

The meeting is held each year with the participation of UNEP civil society, legal state organizations, communities, youth and women groups. However, this was the first time that the meeting was organized in this region: not only in Azerbaijan but also in Caucasus. During the Advisory Meeting the main policies that will serve to solving ecological problems were discussed. These policies give the opportunity of cooperation between Main Groups and Shareholders and UNEP's regional offices.

Note that the organizational part of this project is conducted by the IDEA and UNEP. As a result of the Advisory Meeting, taking into consideration some recommendations of European Main Groups and Stakeholders, was adopted the Outcome Statement of context Rio+20 and was linked to the Main Groups and Shareholders Global Forum, which will be held in February, 2013, in Nairobi.
