The Young Climate Champions Competition
IDEA Public Union and the British Embassy, with the joint support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, invite students of grades 8-11 to participate in the Young Climate Champions competition.
Schools are invited to form their own teams (maximum 5 students per team from the same school) and submit project proposals that will help reduce the carbon footprint of the school or local community. Possible areas of action may include awareness and publicity campaigns, clean-up campaigns and the introduction of green technologies. All applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee and the teams presenting the most creative and effective project proposals will be invited for an interview. Teams that successfully pass the interview will be able to get small grants from the organizers to implement their ideas in March-April 2023. Mentors will be appointed by the organizers to support the winning teams in implementing their project proposals.
