The Winners of the Spring Yard Project Awarded
The Spring Yard project, initiated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and IDEA Public Union and dedicated to the greening of schoolyards, has been successfully completed.
As part of the project, students planted about 12,000 trees and shrubs in schoolyards, maintained greenery, carried out landscaping, and took other beautification measures. IDEA Public Union presented special birdhouses to each educational institution participating in the project.
The Ministry of Education and IDEA Public Union held a competition among 26 general educational institutions in the cities of Baku, Ganja, and Sumgayit. According to the terms of the competition, the schools with the most well-kept and beautifully arranged "spring yards" were selected, announced as winners, and awarded special diplomas and valuable prizes at a ceremony held on June 8.
The "Spring Yard" project included a total of 15 higher education institutions and 26 secondary educational institutions in Baku, Ganja, and Sumgayit. In addition to positively impacting the environmental condition of educational institutions and the health of students, this initiative contributed to deepening the environmental knowledge of schoolchildren and students and fostering a caring attitude toward nature.
