The Research Program on Azerbaijan Ornitofauna and Observation of Bird Species has Finished
The research program on Azerbaijan Ornitofauna and Observation of Bird Species implemented by IDEA Public Union, founded and led by the Vice-President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva on April 29-May 2 has already been concluded.
The program containing theoretical and practical parts lasted four days. Nearly 20 young people participated in the tranings on the “Azerbaijan Ornitofauna and observation of bird species” during the theoretical part of the program which took place between April 29 – May 1. Theoretical sessions were conducted by Sevinj Sarukhanova, the expert of the WWF Azerbaijan. The young were informed about population and the assessment of potential impacts on them during the sessions. In addition, participants fullfiled the writing tasks on the relevant research topics.
The second part of the program consisting of practical field work took place on May 2 at Shirvan National Park. The young observed different bird species and their lifestyle in the park and, have compiled reports on the number of birds.
It should be noted that the experimental work was carried out under the instruction of Dr. Elchin Sultanov, PhD in Biological Sciences, the chairman of Azerbaijan Ornithological Society.
