The First Stage of the "7 Wonders of Azerbaijan" Project has Concluded!
The initial phase of the "7 Wonders of Azerbaijan" project, launched jointly by the IDEA Public Union and "Nature and History Production," has been completed. As a result of the voting process, 25 finalist locations have been determined from the list of candidates.
The second phase of the project, which has been well-received by the public, will begin in November. This stage will feature a television series with the participation of scientists, researchers, and experts. Each episode, lasting 25 weeks, will focus on one of the finalist locations chosen by the public.
It's important to note that the "7 Wonders of Azerbaijan" project was launched in May of this year. As is known, the new seven wonders of the world were announced as a result of a global vote held in 2007, prompting many countries to implement similar projects to choose their own wonders. Azerbaijan also initiated such a project to identify its own marvels, conducting voting through the Yeddi.az website.
The main goal of the "7 Wonders of Azerbaijan" project is to foster a sense of patriotism in society, protect our national cultural and historical heritage, investigate controversial and distorted facts surrounding historical monuments, and promote and safeguard historical, cultural, and natural sites in Azerbaijan.
As part of the project, a final vote will take place in early May next year, from which 7 winners will be selected from the 25 candidates. The monuments designated as the "7 Wonders of Azerbaijan" will be announced to the public on May 28, Republic Day.
