Our Yard Project - Surakhani District, Yeni Gunashli V Settlement

As part of the "Our Yard" project, implemented under the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and leader of the IDEA Public Union, another landscaped courtyard has been opened for residents' use.

The renovated courtyard is located in the Surakhani district, in the "V" residential area of Yeni Gunashli settlement, and encompasses buildings numbered 20 to 28, where 2,250 residents live.

The main goal of the "Our Yard" project is to make Baku's courtyards environmentally friendly and well-maintained, to restore the greenery that forms the backbone of urban ecology, to foster a healthy lifestyle, and to create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In the newly landscaped courtyard, the needs of people with disabilities have been considered, and favorable conditions have been created for the development of children of all age groups. Various sports facilities, football and chess fields, and children's playgrounds have been installed to promote productive leisure time for youth and to develop their habit of engaging in regular sports. The new yard area includes 13 gazebos, benches, and waste bins.

Taking into account the wishes and interests of the residents, new elevators, lighting poles, and security cameras have been installed in the courtyard. The facades, roofs, and entrances of the buildings have been completely renovated. In addition to restoring existing greenery, 50 trees have been planted and a green strip of 3,500 square meters has been created, in compliance with the special quarantine regime rules.

In the updated courtyard, medical and preventive measures have been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the quarantine period, disinfection dispensers have been installed, and informative signs warning about adherence to quarantine regime rules have been put up.

The implementation of this project is planned in all districts of Baku. In this regard, it is requested that information and recommendations about courtyards in need of improvement in our capital be provided to the IDEA Public Union.
