Our Yard Project - Khatai District, Zigh Road

The Our Yard project, initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, aimed at beautifying neglected yards, continues successfully.

On March 4, the next landscaped yard within the framework of the Our Yard project was made available to residents. The renovated yard covers buildings housing 1,200 residents at 9 Zigh Road, Khatai District.

The main goal of the Our Yard project is to make Baku's yards ecologically clean and beautiful, restore greenery as a pillar of urban ecology, promote a healthy lifestyle, and create safe and comfortable living conditions for residents.

In this newly landscaped yard, provisions were made for the comfortable movement of disabled people. To create favorable conditions for the development of children of all age groups and to help them spend their free time effectively, mini-football, volleyball, and basketball courts, as well as 6 sports facilities for children, were established. A children's entertainment center with a floor covered with a special coating, including 19 seats, has also been installed. The main goal of building such playgrounds is to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, strengthen their health, help them spend their free time efficiently, and cultivate an interest in regular sports activities. Additionally, a fountain was built in the area, and the "Complex of Martyrs" was restored.

Considering the wishes of the residents, new lighting poles were installed, and the facades and entrance parts of the buildings were fully renovated and made available for use. Alongside the restoration of existing greenery in the courtyard, covering an area of 13,000 square meters, 100 trees were planted and a green strip was laid over 5,000 square meters.

The yard provided to the residents of Khatai District is the seventeenth yard improved within the project.

This project is planned to be implemented in all districts of Baku. Therefore, residents are encouraged to submit information and recommendations about the courtyards in our capital that need improvement to the IDEA Public Union.
