Leyla Aliyeva Meets with Representatives of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and founder of IDEA Public Union, Leyla Aliyeva met with the representatives of the International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation (UIAA), on April 4, 2015.
At the meeting, which was attended also by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Baghyrov, the guests were briefed about the activities of IDEA Public Association, including its projects; it was emphasized these activities have helped to improve enlightenment in the country.
During the meeting the parties held discussions on mutual cooperation between IDEA and the Federation in the spheres of ecological enlightenment and ecological art, and possibilities of implementing joint projects both at national and international level.
The International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation was founded in 1932. Represented in five continents, the Federation brings together over 80 organizations and over 2.5 million people from 50 countries. Primary objectives of the Federation are to develop mountaineering in the world, promote safe and ethic practices in this sphere and contribute to the protection of the environment. The Federation has been recognized by the International Olympic Committee as an international organization representing mountaineering and climbing sports types.
