In the Narimanov District, New Trees were Planted in Place of Illegally Cut Trees

The destroyed greenery in Baku's Narimanov district has been restored on the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union.

On November 3, a complaint was received from residents on IDEA's Emergency Nature hotline 1113 about illegal tree cutting at 25 Aliyar Aliyev Street, Narimanov district, Baku city. IDEA specialists immediately went to the scene and, together with the relevant state authorities, determined that two trees had been illegally cut down in the area.

On the initiative of the founder of IDEA, the area was taken under control to restore greenery, and nine cypress and pine trees were planted at the specified address.

Representatives of IDEA Public Union, the Narimanov District Executive Authority, and the Baku City Landscaping Department took part in the tree-planting campaign.

It should be noted that within the framework of the "Say No to Tree Cutting" program, a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and IDEA, 235 complaints about illegal tree cutting in Baku have been considered over the past year, and work has been carried out to resolve them positively. As a result of the program's implementation, a significant decrease in the destruction of greenery in our capital has been observed. In addition to preventive measures, more than 5 million trees have been planted throughout the country since the founding of IDEA as part of large-scale tree-planting campaigns.

The goal of IDEA's greening projects is to restore ecological balance, contribute to nature, draw people's attention to the preservation of greenery, and strengthen public control in environmental protection.

IDEA Public Union calls on all citizens to contribute to the protection of greenery and report any illegal tree cutting cases to the hotline (1113) (from all mobile operators and landlines).
