IDEA to Hold Earth Hour Action

IDEA Campaign, founded by Leyla Aliyeva Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation will hold “Earth Hour” action together with “Earth Hour Azerbaijan”. As one of the directions of activity of IDEA campaign is the problem of climate change, it always support local and foreign campaigns organized to tackle this problem.

The action will run in remarkable buildings consuming large amount of electricity in Baku, Ganja, Lankaran, Lahij, as well as in the Maiden Tower. Detailed information about the action is available at www.earthhour.az

Earth Hour is a worldwide event that is organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, encouraging households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change.

On 26 March 2011, Azerbaijan turned off the lights of the Maiden Tower and thus entered the list of 120 countries supporting the campaign last year.
