IDEA Announces the Launch of the Let’s Turn Papers into Leaves Project

Starting from March 18, the IDEA Public Union and the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan are launching the Let’s Turn Papers into Leaves project, dedicated to the collection of paper products, at the national level.

The goal of the project is to protect trees, conserve nature, and maintain ecological balance by reducing paper waste and promoting recycling. Additionally, the project aims to prevent environmental pollution and promote proper waste management.

As known, the pilot phase of the Let’s Turn Papers into Leaves project was implemented in Baku from February to April 2014. Considering the success of the pilot phase (with nearly 79 tons of paper collected and sent to relevant recycling facilities within 3 months) and the high public interest in the project, the IDEA Public Union and its partners decided to continue this project on a national scale.

The collection of used paper will initially begin on March 18 at the Baku ASAN xidmət center No. 4, and from March 25, the collection of paper waste will be carried out at all ASAN xidmət centers across the Republic.

Within the framework of the project, the company Azersun will also organize the collection of more than 300 kg of paper waste from addresses using special vehicles. Those wishing to submit paper waste on a mobile basis are asked to contact the IDEA Public Union at (497-63-16) or ASAN xidmət at the hotline (108).

The IDEA Public Union and the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan invite government agencies, private sector representatives, non-governmental organizations, and citizens to participate in the Let’s Turn Papers into Leaves project in the name of environmental protection!
