As Part of the Green Marathon Project, the One-millionth Tree was Planted

On May 10, the one-millionth tree was planted in the settlement of Zira, Khazar district, as part of the Green Marathon project.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Founder and Leader of the IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva participated in the event.

First, Leyla Aliyeva was introduced to the modern greenhouse complex built in Zira with the support of the IDEA Public Union.

The complex grows rare and imported species of trees and plants in Azerbaijan. The complex, which covers an area of 20 hectares, employs over 100 staff. Between 2 to 3 million plants and flower bushes are grown here every year.

The greenhouse, which grows 500 species of flowers, consists of six sections. In these sections, seeds and seedlings are cultivated, and sick plants are treated.

Then, Leyla Aliyeva participated in the tree-planting campaign. She planted the one-millionth tree as part of the Green Marathon project.

As part of the tree-planting campaign, supported by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, a total of 5,000 trees were planted in this area by 100 volunteers from the IDEA Public Union.

Leyla Aliyeva also visited the developing IDEA eco-park and learned about the conditions created for endangered animals in Azerbaijan.
