An Ecological Laboratory has been Organized for children Brought up in Orphanages
On December 3, 10 and 17, a series of trainings were held at the IDEA Resource Center within the framework of the Ecological Laboratory for Children project, jointly implemented by IDEA and the Sevimli Bala organization.
About 100 children aged 6-11 years old, living in orphanages No. 1, 2 and 3, took part in this project, supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
During the training dedicated to "Earth and New Year", the little ecologists were provided with extensive information about interesting facts about our planet, changes in nature in winter, snow, its structure and formation process, climate change and its consequences, impact on the environment, and were also explained how to prepare and decorate a New Year tree without harming the environment.
During the training, the children took part in a number of laboratory studies, including experiments with dry ice, which aroused their great interest. Later, an excursion and interesting entertainment were organized for them at the Zira Cultural Center.
Upon completion of the training, IDEA and the Sevimli Bala organization presented New Year's gifts to the little ecologists of orphanages No. 1, 2 and 3.
It should be noted that within the framework of the "Ecological Laboratory for Children" project, implemented since January 2015, more than 500 children have become guests of the laboratory and environmental trainings have been held covering various environmental topics, such as clean and healthy food, the properties of water and its conservation, energy and its conservation, animals and their care, climate change and global warming, "green city", waste and its recycling, seasons, air pollution.
