A Series of Environmental Actions were Held on the Occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev

A tree-planting event took place in the forest reserve of Lankaran district, attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder of the IDEA Public Union, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, and young volunteers. An iron tree, listed in Azerbaijan's 'Red Book,' was planted during the reforestation event.

Following this, an ecotourism trail was marked in Hirkan National Park, modeled after the Czech method, to facilitate tourist movement. This approach aims to promote ecotourism development across our country's specially protected natural areas.

Continuing the initiative, fish fry were released into Khanbulan Lake as part of the 'Rich Basins' project, aimed at preserving and increasing fish populations in Azerbaijan's inland water bodies. This project is a joint effort by the IDEA Public Union and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, with a total of 50,000 fry released into the lake.

Additionally, 7 hedgehogs, provided by Baku Zoological Park in collaboration with the IDEA Public Union to support the reproduction of rare and endangered fauna species in Azerbaijan, were released into Hirkan National Park.

Organizers of these environmental actions in Lankaran encourage the public to actively engage in protecting Azerbaijan's rich and fragile biodiversity, promoting greenery restoration, and supporting other environmental conservation efforts.
