A New Planting Campaign on Post-fire Forest Regenration

As we all know, climate change is making forest fires more frequent and intense throughout the globe.

This season, forest fires took place in multiple regions of Azerbaijan, including Shabran, Siyazan, Guba, Khachmaz, Gabala, Oghuz and Zagatala.

We are pleased to announce a new planting campaign on post-fire forest regeneration launched by IDEA and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources aimed at reviving the affected forest areas.

The first planting event within the campaign took place today in Shabran, where our volunteers planted thousands of oak, beech, walnut, maple, elm, sycamore, linden, ash and acacia trees and seeds on a 2-hectare area.

The organizers of the campaign call on everyone to protect our forests, which are our irreplaceable life support system, and to strive for the sustainable future of our country and the whole planet
