A New Enclosure Built in the Baku Zoo with the Assistance of Leyla Aliyeva
On 25 June 2015, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, founder and Director of IDEA Public Union Leyla Aliyeva visited the Baku Zoo and took part in the unveiling ceremony of the newly constructed tiger enclosure.
Considering that the tiger had previously been kept at the zoo under unsatisfactory conditions and after numerous appeals from Baku residents, Leyla Aliyeva initiated the construction of a new and modern enclosure for this rare animal.
Besides being brighter and more convenient, the new dwelling is five times larger than the previous one. There are separate rooms to protect the animal from heat and cold as well as a large swimming pool, playground and other features that resemble the natural habitat of tigers.
This project will significantly improve the living conditions of the tiger at the Baku Zoo, fully securing its safety and comfort.
Following the ceremony, Leyla Aliyeva was acquainted with the conditions of other animals kept in the Baku Zoo and shared her suggestions and recommendations.
